All Ready Access
The Dauphin County Library System and the school districts we serve are partnering to support the ongoing education of students. We believe that students all need access to the resources that will support them in their education and get them ready for whatever is next in their lives.
With these partnerships, students will be able to use their school ID number to access The Library’s eResources. We call this initiative All Ready Access, because with just their school ID number, they already have access to what a student needs.
What does All Ready Access offer?
For Students:
When you log into one of The Library’s online resources and it asks for your barcode number, use your school district’s code (for example Susquehanna Township School District’s code is STSD.)
If you already have a card at The Library, we will combine the two accounts, and your student can use either the library barcode or the school ID number to access online resources.
For Parents:
- Your student is already enrolled. If you do NOT wish your child to have access to these resources, you can opt out.
- Students who opt out will not be able to participate in classroom use of The Library’s resources unless they have a Dauphin County Library System card and know the full card number and PIN.
- Your student will not gain fines with an All Ready Access account. To borrow physical books or other materials, or to use the computers at The Library, your student’s account will need to be converted into a regular library card. Just stop by any library with your student and your ID to upgrade to full library access.
- Your student’s information is secure. Your student’s privacy and security are of the utmost importance to your district and The Library. All information provided by your district is considered confidential under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The Library agrees to keep that information confidential and will not use it for anything other than the creation of an All Ready Access account for your student.
If you would like your student to participate in the All Ready Access program, then you do not need to do anything. Your student will automatically be enrolled.
If you do not want your student to participate, then please complete this form and return it to any Dauphin County Library System branch by October 31.
